The dogs, of course, are a mixed case of happy to see their owner, weirded out by the fact that he's still dead for whatever reason and yet there he is just wandering around and stuff, and hating his face because he's come back smelling like smoke and blood and unfamiliar places. So Wesker will be taking some time to calm them immediately upon their return; he'd been tired beforehand - that sort of deep exhaustion that comes with spending so much damn time around people and exerting himself - but spending time with the dogs energizes him a bit, and when he finally disappears upstairs it's to shower and generally make himself feel more like a person again, at least for a while.
And then...well, it's a matter of finding Jaeger, wherever he's at, given that he doesn't want to be terribly far from him at the moment.]
[You won't have to look very hard; as usual, he's in the study. He's certainly feeling better after being back home for a little while. He'll look up when Wesker approaches, smiling and putting his phone away.]
[He pauses for a moment once that's out there, the hesitation obvious despite his words, and after a moment he'll reach out and start playing with Jaeger's hair; it's soft, the usual confidence and affection not quite there, but it's an attempt, anyway.]
[It's not perfect, but considering what Wesker told him yesterday he's not expecting it to be just like it used to be. Things are different now. But this is wonderful anyway and he leans into it immediately. He's quiet for once, just enjoying it for a moment before reaching out for Wesker's free hand.]
[His immediate compulsion is to pull his free hand away, and for a brief moment he shifts a bit to do that before making himself stop; it's okay, but even though he knows it's okay it takes him a moment before letting Jaeger take his hand.
He doesn't have gloves on for the time being; it's...odd to do this without. But he just keeps himself focused on what he's doing with Jaeger's hair; it's calming - it always has been, and now isn't an exception.]
[He notices the hesitation, but he doesn't draw back any. They'll start small, and if it's too much for Wesker then he won't push, but he sincerely hopes it isn't.
Jaeger's smile is bright when Wesker does take his hand. He's not wearing his gloves either, so this might not last for too long, but he can't say he minds. For now, it's really nice.]
[His grip is light at first, as though he's fully prepared to pull away if the urge to do so strikes him, but after a moment that urge doesn't seem like it's going to come; he's tensed up quite a bit, though, that much is undeniable, and after a while his gaze darts a bit.
And that's. Um. Well.
He's got the sunglasses on, but it's likely noticeable anyway? Apparently his damn eyes do things when he's worked up, there's a faint glow being given off even behind the lenses and it's evident when he glances away, so it's. very definitely his eyes.]
[Oh, that's... kind of creepy, really. Yikes. But Jaeger doesn't look away or pull away; he's going to get used to these eyes somehow. He's glad Wesker has the sunglasses on, though.
So instead he focuses on their hands. He's a bit surprised Wesker hasn't pulled away yet, but he's certainly not complaining. He squeezes his boyfriend's hand a bit, still smiling.]
[At least it doesn't seem to be hurting or bothering him any; he doesn't even seem aware of it, really, it's just kind of...a thing that's happening, unsettling though it is.
He's still incredibly tense, he seems on the verge of flinching away from the contact, and it's obvious (a bit...moreso...than usual...) that he doesn't seem sure of where he should be looking; after a moment, though, he'll shift a little, tightening his grip on Jaeger's hand a bit as though confirming that he's not going to just pull away.]

I take it you've gotten the dogs to settle a bit?
no subject
They're going to be rather upset with me when we have to leave again, but for the time being they seem to be working themselves out.
[...It sounds more affectionate than anything, okay.]
no subject
[They probably won't, though.]
I'm going to miss being home too, but I do appreciate being here now.
no subject
[It's not so much a question as it is an observation; honestly, he seems decidedly more relaxed now that he's here.]
no subject
[It's not just comfortable, it's home.]
no subject
...Likewise.
no subject
[He doesn't sound like he minds at all, though.]
no subject
I should have expected that you would want to celebrate.

[jaeger, why.]

Let's go out somewhere! It doesn't have to be for long, but I'd like to go somewhere with you!
no subject
[...]
Fair enough, I suppose.

no subject
[oh my god, he's serious.]
no subject
Well, I suppose I don't really mind them!
[He's trying not to laugh, okay.]
no subject
[He seems amused, all right.]
We can go tonight. It isn't as though there's a time constraint on it.
[Twenty-four hours of waffles, Jaeger.]
