It was something I genuinely enjoyed back then; there weren't many things, but most of my better memories were centered around it.

Of course. I don't ever want to be that close to my past life. I'll always care about the people around me.

I'm trying not to let it bother me as much! It's...

[Hmm. He's not really sure what he wants to say about it. His left hand absently moves up to touch the blastia before he notices and drops his hand back down.]

Well, it's still a bit troubling, of course. But it's not something I'm constantly dwelling on.

It's understandable, that it would trouble you like that. But it's good that it isn't all-consuming.

...I'm really glad you don't. I'll admit it still troubles me. But knowing that it doesn't bother you any... well, that helps.

[He's quiet for a brief moment. Thinking.]

You know that it doesn't change how I see you, don't you? You're a highly beautiful person - and not despite it, either. Just overall. It isn't something that I'm ignoring or putting up with in any way.

[That gets him to glance away, though he's smiling.]

...Thank you. I... thought it might be something like that. Something that you were just putting up with because I'm important to you. But it's really good to know that's not the case.

It genuinely doesn't bother me, outside of how it bothers you. It doesn't disturb me to look at it in any way, and it doesn't detract from anything about you.

[He does sound entirely genuine about it; there's something else behind it, something affectionate in a way that he hasn't sounded in a while.

He means it, all right.]

I don't simply tolerate anything about you. You're important enough to me that I want to handle things with you, yes, but it's never a case of just putting up with things like this.

[Jaeger finally looks up at that, still smiling.]

I'm really glad it's nothing like that. It means so much to me that you want to be here to help me through this. Thank you, Albert. I don't think I have the words to properly express just how much this means to me.

[He's probably touched Wesker entirely too much today so he doesn't reach out, but damn does he want to. He hasn't missed the tone of voice that's been strangely absent for awhile; it means a lot to him.]

[It's been a lot of contact today, so he doesn't move to initiate anything further; just the same, he's not going anywhere, either.]

Anything you want from me is yours, if it's within my power to give it to you.

[It's teasing though, and after a moment he settles a bit.]

I don't offer that sort of thing to anyone else.

[It should probably be a touchier subject than it is, given Spencer, but he doesn't mind it.]

You're doing more than enough for me; you're already giving me everything I want.

[It's still light, but he's obviously not joking.]

You didn't doubt that, did you? You've always been exceptional at looking out for me. I really couldn't be happier, despite Retrospec's meddling.

[He goes quiet after that's out there; he doesn't know what about it is overstimulating him, but the fact of the matter is that something is - perhaps it's something he needed to hear, perhaps it's something he's had doubts about in there somewhere. Either way, it's been a while since he's gone weird and silent like this; it's frustrating, in a way, to slip back into it, but it's not really something that can be helped, either.]

[Oh, that's... It's been awhile since Wesker's done this, hasn't it? Weird...

Jaeger considers for a moment before speaking up again.]

I really am so happy with you. You mean so much to me.

[It's as close as he can get to actually saying it, but it'll do for now. Now that he's said his piece he'll shut up for a little while, at least.]

[He remains quiet after that's out there, just trying to get himself sorted and work out what he should do with himself; he'd disliked this when it was a more frequent occurrence, but something about doing it after so long is making him incredibly prickly. It doesn't detract from the words Jaeger is saying to him, however, and if anything those are going to center him a bit more.]
