[He goes quiet after that's out there; he doesn't know what about it is overstimulating him, but the fact of the matter is that something is - perhaps it's something he needed to hear, perhaps it's something he's had doubts about in there somewhere. Either way, it's been a while since he's gone weird and silent like this; it's frustrating, in a way, to slip back into it, but it's not really something that can be helped, either.]

[Oh, that's... It's been awhile since Wesker's done this, hasn't it? Weird...

Jaeger considers for a moment before speaking up again.]

I really am so happy with you. You mean so much to me.

[It's as close as he can get to actually saying it, but it'll do for now. Now that he's said his piece he'll shut up for a little while, at least.]

[He remains quiet after that's out there, just trying to get himself sorted and work out what he should do with himself; he'd disliked this when it was a more frequent occurrence, but something about doing it after so long is making him incredibly prickly. It doesn't detract from the words Jaeger is saying to him, however, and if anything those are going to center him a bit more.]

Likewise, you know.

[It's quiet, but it's something.]

[He looks really damn pleased with that though, even when he does fall silent to let Wesker have a chance to recover from being overstimulated. He really is happy like this, and he hopes that things will stay like this for a long time to come. The blastia was a nasty shock and Wesker's death was even worse, but they're still here and now Wesker's almost impossible to kill so... things are okay.]

[It takes him a little while to settle, to be able to focus on words again; it really has been a while, and perhaps that's something that can be taken as a good thing - he's gone a long time with no improvement in that regard, so the fact that it's happening now...

Well, he's always been aware that he never had difficulties like this in his memories; maybe it's an indication that something shifted, that he's becoming closer to how he's supposed to be.

It takes him a moment too long to mentally correct it to "how he used to be."

It's not something he's going to dwell on; it's something fleeting and intrusive and thankfully not broadcasted out in Jaeger's direction. For mow, he's content with the way things are; they've been able to handle everything Retrospec has thrown at them, and for the time being they're happy. It's more than he had thought they would be able to ask for; he's grateful for it.]

[It's a damn good thing that didn't get broadcast over here, it absolutely would have ruined the mood immediately. But as it stands, Jaeger's content with the silence for now. He does eventually offer Wesker his hand again, though he doesn't expect to be taken up on it; Wesker's been doing great with the contact today, so he's probably done with it. Still, it doesn't hurt to try, and Jaeger did say he'd do what he could to help. So! Here we are.]

[He isn't entirely certain what to do with it when Jaeger offers his hand again; on the one hand, he's slightly done with it, but on the other hand he doesn't necessarily want to be. Physical affection is just something they do during times like this, to an extent where it feels odd not to, and this is an extremely mild version of it all things considered.

So, here we are indeed.

It takes him a moment to accept it, but eventually he does; his grip is light but it's there, at least.]

[Oh, that's nice. Jaeger's smile widens when Wesker takes his hand, though he doesn't say anything. His grip isn't too firm either; Wesker can pull away whenever he wants, but for now this is really nice? Unexpected and really nice.]

...You're good to me, you know.

[Again, it's quiet; he doesn't seem like he's going to pull away just yet.]

I certainly do my best to be! I want to be as good to you as you are to me.

[He squeezes Wesker's hand a bit at that, but he'll loosen his grip quickly enough.]

[That gets a soft noise out of him, anyway.]

You don't ever have to worry about that.

I'm glad! Not that I was worried in the first place, of course!

[He actually wasn't worried about that! He's got other insecurities, but that thankfully isn't one of them.]

I was fairly sure you weren't.

You do tend to say that I can read you rather well.

You can! It's always nice to see, honestly. I spent so long trying to make myself harder to read, so it's good that you can see right through me, even if I don't always appreciate it at the time!

I enjoy knowing that I can.

[It's nice, honestly? He tends to have problems with people, so being able to read his boyfriend well is important to him in a lot of ways.]
