He spoke about "creating" me.

[And from the sound of it, he...still isn't sure what he thinks about that, but any emotional reaction to it is going to be completely deadened for now; his voice is strangely clinical as he discusses it, really.]

He said that I had been specifically selected for my potential and taken somewhere to be made into a member of a new race of human beings - those who would be chosen to serve him while he reigned over the world as a god. Apparently he narrowed down the selection of his chosen few by way of human experimentation and brainwashing - I was injected with viruses that had a very low survival rate, to see if I would survive, and was put through a battery of physical tests. I also had various thought processes and impulses "programmed" into me, so he could ensure that I would act according to his will and serve him without question.

[God, it's like he's describing the chemical elements he handles at work. Just...very straightforward, very blank. The sky is blue, the grass is green, he was apparently horrifically abused as a child.]

...I wasn't the only one he did this to, either; apparently, he did this to a large number of children. I was just the only one that survived.

He deserved to die, Jaeger. It's still...unsettling, but he doubtlessly deserved to die.

[You might not be having any kind of emotional reaction to it, but Jaeger is. He looks downright horrified by the time Wesker's done.]

Human experimentation and brainwashing... all for what? So he could rule as "god"? How ridiculous!

[He's quiet for a moment at that, though he does seem to relax at it; he hasn't really been sure how he feels about any of this, but it's...a relief, in some sick way, to hear Jaeger be so outraged at it, to have confirmation that he was right in what he did.

Even if he's still subscribing to the notion that it isn't really him at all who did it.]

It explains a lot of things, I think - both about that situation and perhaps why this person's behavior has been what it has. It's just something that I've been having trouble stepping back from, on a personal level. Not identifying with it in some way has been more difficult than usual.

But it's something that can be handled, in time.

I'm sure if anyone can handle it, it's you. Do you think talking about it will help? I'm curious to know what you make of all of this and the impact it had on his behavior.

[That...actually gets a long period of hesitation out of him; for a moment, it's difficult to tell if he's going to answer at all or if he's just going to deliberate it for the foreseeable future. But eventually he'll say something.]

Spending the early part of one's life in a situation like that tends to cause children to come out...strangely.

[That would certainly explain Wesker's lack of fear responses too. It's just a coincidence that they both went through terrible things in childhood though, right? Maybe that's why this is striking Wesker strangely.]

I'm not the sort of person who admits to being afraid easily, but not having that response at all would be a little worrying, I think. For me, at least.

Well you did go walking straight into danger a little while back, so I like to think I can serve as your fear response when you really need it!

That was a highly unusual situation, and I doubt I can be that faulted for deciding to take the opportunity as-presented. It was entirely possible that I wouldn't get another chance.
