[That would certainly explain Wesker's lack of fear responses too. It's just a coincidence that they both went through terrible things in childhood though, right? Maybe that's why this is striking Wesker strangely.]

I'll admit that the lack of fear responses is the thing I understand least, but I had a fairly normal childhood.

That was a highly unusual situation, and I doubt I can be that faulted for deciding to take the opportunity as-presented. It was entirely possible that I wouldn't get another chance.
