[We should probably just accept, at this point, that if we're receiving clothes from Retrospec it's probably not going to be a terribly good day.
Wesker had fired off a text in Jaeger's direction that was both brief and admittedly more abrupt than usual, mentioning that he would be a bit late in returning home that evening; when he enters the study it's with a bunch of black fabric in his arms that he proceeds to slam into the nearest chair like it owes him money before coming over to take his usual seat on the couch, seeming highly agitated as he does so.
[Ah, yes, more black clothes. He is absolutely not surprised at this point. He's sort of curious if they're going to be something good-looking or a total disaster, but for now there are more pressing things to attend to.]
Are you okay, Albert?
[That's a pretty stupid question given how he's acting, but maybe it'll prompt him to talk about it.]
[Oh yeah, he is definitely not fine. Jaeger moves closer after a moment and holds out a hand; he's not sure how much contact Wesker's going to want, but he'll offer it anyway.]
...He was my superior officer while I was still working with Umbrella. I'm not certain how, exactly, because I don't think he was a researcher; I suppose it's possible that I was transferred to a different division, but it hardly matters either way.
The night I tried to leave the corporation, he stopped me as I was on my way out of the training facility; he asked me what I was doing, and I told him that I was going to my next mission. He said that defending the training facility was my mission, and that I wasn't allowed to leave.
I informed him that there was an outbreak in the facility, and that I was declaring it a loss; I was going to destroy the facility to contain the outbreak and stop it before it spread. I acknowledge that I wasn't terribly respectful in going about it, but he apparently didn't like my tone and decided to...teach me a lesson, and show me that I couldn't just do whatever I wanted.
He set one of his "brothers" I've told you about against me. This was before I was infected; as such, I nearly died in that fight.
I almost didn't. The only reason I survived is because Birkin began detonating the facility a short distance away. The explosions affected the area we were in; it gave me enough time to get out from under the thing I was trying to fight and escape.
He really would have killed you, then? Well, at least you escaped, but I can certainly see why you're irritated by this! That's certainly no good reason to kill someone!
I normally don't take up issue like this with Sergei trying to kill me - we each had a habit of standing directly in the way of what the other wanted, and so it was more or less the natural conclusion of things.
This just seemed egregious, however. There was no reason for that.
Of course, sometimes that sort of thing happens but usually there's a reason for it. This absolutely doesn't count as a reason. From the sound of it, you were doing what you thought was best in the situation and you were a bit rude about it, but none of that is a reason to try to kill someone.
Oh, I acknowledge that I deserved the reprimand, given that I should have requested permission instead of simply informing him of what I was doing. I was highly disrespectful in how I went about it.
But there's certainly a reason why I've said that I wasn't the worst person my world has to offer.
Certainly not! I'm very sorry you had to remember something like this, and I really do hope you'll be able to feel a little less irritated by it soon. But I do understand, it sounds awful!
Normally I was annoyed when I dealt with Sergei. If it wasn't that, I found things interesting. This was different, however - he said he was teaching me a lesson, so I assumed he was going to hurt me badly.
It wasn't until that thing had me on the ground and he refused to call it off that I realized that he was trying to kill me, and furthermore that I was absolutely going to die unless something drastic happened. There was fear then, though I did what I could to channel it into something else. Anger. The desire to fight harder. Things like that.
[It's strange to think he actually felt fear, even if it didn't last for very long.]
I'm sorry. It sounds like it was a very difficult memory. I certainly don't blame you for being scared, or for being angry. It really does seem like it would be difficult to process something like that. Is there anything I can do to help you?
If you want to talk more about it, I'll listen. But if you'd rather discuss something else, I don't mind that, of course. I'm sure I can find something to distract you with, if you'd like!
Well, I could tell you about my day at work, but it wasn't anything too particularly exciting. Or you could tell me about the clothes you received from Retrospec!
[C'mon, he absolutely wants to see what you got!!]

...It seems he's having a day today. Hi, Jaeger.]

[...He is not fine. Give him a second.]
Unpleasant memories, that's all.
no subject
What did you remember?
no subject
It was something involving Sergei having an egregious overreaction to something relatively minor. It's been irritating me all day.
no subject
It's not like him to get this riled over his memories... It's nice that he's being open about it, but whatever it was must have been really bad.]
What did Sergei do?

The night I tried to leave the corporation, he stopped me as I was on my way out of the training facility; he asked me what I was doing, and I told him that I was going to my next mission. He said that defending the training facility was my mission, and that I wasn't allowed to leave.

Why did he decide to try to kill you? That hardly seems practical.

How did you escape from that?

It...unnerved me a bit as well, to be honest.
[He sounds rather like he doesn't want to admit that at all, but...]
Again, this was before I was infected. So it would have been very easy for that thing to kill me. It nearly did, it got me on the ground a few times.
no subject
[He shifts a little, like he's thinking of reaching out and touching Wesker, but ultimately he doesn't.]
...I'm very sorry. I'm sure it was frightening. Did you feel scared at all in the memory?
[He's assuming not, honestly...]
no subject
[He actually had to think about it.]

Apparently Retrospec rather wants to remind me of Sergei lately; I believe that's what I was wearing when I went to fight him in Russia.
