[That seems to settle him, at least a little; he's still tense as he shifts position, reaching up to fiddle with those dark glasses a bit, adjusting them somewhat even though that isn't entirely necessary - but at the same time, he seems able to take a few deeper breaths before continuing.]
...I still believe that my answer shouldn't change. This sort of thing shouldn't be what we pursue right now, if ever; I can't shake the feeling that this is going to end poorly for one or both of us, and as such, it's something to be avoided.
However, I've also been trying to give some thought to what you've said. Regarding what I want for myself, and whether I have any faith in who we are now.
I...
[...]
I still don't have an answer for that. It's not a matter of a lack of trust in you, or in myself, but a lack of faith that Retrospec won't do anything in its collective power to destroy everything we have. Everything they're trying to do seems, from what I understand, reliant on the notion that they're going to recreate worlds, starting with us... It stands to reason, then, that it isn't a matter of what we choose, or what we will to happen. What comes to pass comes to pass, and we have very little say in the matter.
So I suppose that brings us to the question of what we do in the meantime, which I believe was what you were trying to address a few days ago...? Even if that really is the case, then this is still a decision that we can still make for ourselves, independent of what Retrospec wants.
[That...seems more uncertain than anything, though he's fairly sure that was part of the point Jaeger was trying to make; it just took Wesker a while to work around to it mentally himself.]
I'm not willing to bet on anything. I'm not going to pretend that this is going to end well for either of us, because I'm entirely certain that it won't.
But just the same, I have considered it, and decided that what you want and what I want do seem to align for the time being. That...I want to be happy, even if it's just for the time being.
[Ah yes, that's what he thought. This entire thing does seem like a bad idea when Wesker words it like that, but... Well, Jaeger manages to keep his disappointment subdued while he listens. He's already certain he knows exactly where this is going.
And then suddenly it doesn't go there, and all that time he spent preparing for rejection is pretty pointless.]
You... Really? You really mean it?
[Give him a second. He'll get over the momentary shock quickly enough.]
Of course I want you to be happy, Albert. I want that more than anything, and if I can make you happy, then...
[He trails off there though, expression quickly changing into something genuine and excited.]
I understand that this could end poorly - maybe it will end poorly, I have no way of knowing. But even if it does, I won't regret any of the time we spend together. I can promise you that much.
[He reaches out for Wesker's hand again without really thinking about it.]
[Fortunately for both parties involved here, he's not particularly interested in having his hand back anytime soon; he'll let Jaeger continue holding on there, though he'll shift his grip a bit such that it's more comfortable, if this is something he's going to be doing for a while.]
...This really is completely reckless of us, you know.
[From the sound of it, he doesn't mind that, though. Not for the time being.]

I imagine this is something that you're still interested in pursuing, even after the discussion the other day. Nothing has changed...?
[...So he's going to start by making you start, naturally.]
no subject
Ja, that's right. Nothing has changed.
[And nothing will change, probably. No matter what Wesker has left to remember.]

[Yes, yes, fine, take his hand if you want to, he doesn't mind...]
no subject
[He sounds so goddamn pleased, it's even lacking the usual over-the-top-ness.]
no subject
Well, I should hope not. I'm going to be rather annoyed with you, should that change any.
no subject
You can trust that it won't change at all!
[He's going to vibrate forever, alright. He's just so excited!!]
I'm really looking forward to this, Albert!
no subject
Is it really going to change all that much...?
no subject
[And we all know that Jaeger likes his physical affection. Now he can hug on you whenever he wants and it won't be weird!!!]
no subject
[WHY ARE ALL OF HIS LIFE CHOICES THIS BAD, EVEN WHEN THEY'RE NOT]
no subject
[HE SOUNDS SO PLEASED WITH HIMSELF...]

[NO, REALLY, CONSIDER IT APPRECIATED...]

[He laughs and pats Wesker's hand with his free one. Good luck getting him to let go!!]

no subject
Ja, I know. But I'm going to enjoy every minute we have together and I know I won't regret any of it.
no subject
...As I've said, I want to pursue my own happiness for the time being. And I think I can find that with you.
no subject
I'm glad! I know I can find it with you as well, Albert. I'm already happy just thinking about it!
[He's sort of vibrating a lot, actually.]
no subject
[He just didn't. say. anything...]
no subject
You noticed and you didn't say anything? I was completely oblivious until only a short while ago!
[He. may be turning red again.]
