Good to know. It isn't as though I allow most people into the house, much less for a prolonged period of time like this; it'd be more surprising if I didn't enjoy your company in some way.

I really do appreciate it, you know! I probably won't stick around for much longer, but it's been nice staying here.

That's true, I doubt I'd be able to put up with them for very long... Though they've admittedly been fine lately.

They're a bit worked up due to everything that happened still. I don't fault them for it at all, granted, but there's work to be done with them yet.

[He hasn't been bitten too seriously yet but he's had a couple of rough moments with them so far, it's been an experience...]

Just making sure! I assumed they were more subdued because I haven't seen much of them, but I suppose it makes sense that they're worked up after your absence for three weeks.

I've been keeping them away from you, mostly - I know you don't handle them well when they're overstimulated, and the way they demonstrate it is something you'd likely find alarming besides.
