You... You know, I'm not even that surprised, but how did this end up happening?

[I mean he's a little surprised. But honestly if anyone can do it, it'd be Wesker.]

It was something I was interested in learning, and so my father taught me at one point. It's been useful enough since.

[...Just...let him check that injury over while we talk, all right, and once that's done he'll get out the medical glue - it'll work about as well as the stitches would, anyway.]

I had to do it fairly recently, during the entire incident with the monsters. Before I met up with you.

[He'll hold still, don't worry. He doesn't respond for a moment, just watching what Wesker's doing before responding.]

[It's said easily enough; you'd know if he wasn't.]

It wasn't terribly bad, but it was a long cut, the sort of thing best kept closed somehow.

[That said, this is...not going to hurt at all, actually, it's likely just going to feel weird. The whole point is to keep the skin together and make sure he gets a decent seal over it, which is something that he can do easily enough.]

I'll bandage it in a moment. Let it set.

[He's settled a bit now that Wesker's confirmed that he's fine, even if there wasn't any reason to be all that worried about it in the first place. If Wesker hadn't been fine surely he would have mentioned it.]

Well, I'm glad you were able to take care of it, even if that's not something I could imagine myself doing under any circumstances. I think I'm a bit too squeamish for that!

[That just gets a noncommittal noise out of him; you're probably entirely too squeamish, yeah.]

...I do a fair amount of procedures on myself, depending on what I'm trying to do. It's usually just testing of some sort or another.

I certainly couldn't do that either... But I trust you know what you're doing.

I know better than to try anything too dangerous myself. But at the same time, I've made progress that way that I likely couldn't have gotten away with using strictly the protocols at work.

So it's a fair tradeoff, realy.

[He shrugs a little; it's no big deal, really, as far as he's concerned.]

That said, he goes quiet for a moment at that, taking Jaeger's hand again for the sake of bandaging it.]

I won't be able to do anything like that for a while, I think - I found something odd when I was taking blood samples last time. It's something to keep an eye on, at any rate.

Something odd? What do you mean by that?

[He'll sit still while Wesker works on the bandages; the worst part's over now and while it still hurts, at least Wesker knows what he's doing.]

My immune system is doing something that it shouldn't be. Nothing explicitly worrying yet, mind, but it's producing antibodies in ways that I've never seen before.

It's something that I'm going to look into, but it's...strange, to put it lightly.

Oh. That sounds worrying. I hope it's nothing serious...

If it's something recent do you think Retrospec's involved?

They might be, though I'm not certain if I should hope that they are or not.

[It's going to bother him either way; if it's natural, that begs the question of why it's happening at all, but if it's not and it's Retrospec's doing...

There's a difference between receiving memories from someone else and physically turning into that person, and he's not altogether certain he likes considering the possibility.]

Ja, that's understandable. I can see why it'd be preferable to have this be something natural.

[Or at least as natural as it can be. Jaeger shakes his head a bit as if to clear it.]

I hope you figure out what's going on with your blood soon, though.

You don't have to worry about it, at least for the time being.

[He sounds certain of that much, actually, and not like he's telling you not to worry because he doesn't want you to - more like in his professional goddamn opinion, there's nothing to worry about just yet.]

If it were truly a concern, I would have more complications than this - they would be highly visible and difficult to ignore. I feel fine, and nothing seems off with regards to my body's reaction to things, and other tests I've run have come back negative.

If that changes, I'll tell you. But for now everything seems all right, just unusual.

[That everything seems normal, at least. It's good to hear that Wesker's been doing tests on this too. He'll obviously be keeping an eye on it for any changes.]

I really hope it doesn't end up becoming a problem. Please keep me updated on it! Hopefully it won't give you any cause for concern!

It shouldn't. And if it does turn out to be Retrospec's doing...well, I'll handle that as it happens, I suppose.

[He'll finish up what he's doing, though, with regards to the bandages; there you go.]

[He rests his hand on his knee once Wesker's done.]

I'd like to know if it really was Retrospec's doing. I can't help but be worried about how you'll take that. I do want to know if the situation becomes concerning, but I'm worried about your well-being too.

[He falls quiet for a moment at that, though he's pointedly avoiding looking at Jaeger and he seems tense, agitated; he shakes his head eventually.]

I don't want to consider the possibility in too much depth right now. Do you understand?

Ja, I do. My apologies.

[He drops his gaze to stare at his hand instead. It's understandable that Wesker doesn't want to think about that possibility. He wouldn't want to either.]
