[He doesn't finish that thought right away, though he isn't still; he's just...playing with the liquid inside the glass a bit, swirling it idly while he considers, and once in a while he shakes his head as though he's debating with himself.
[He doesn't interrupt or try to rush Wesker any. He's already on thin ice as it is and he's certain that if he'd tried this before Wesker had any alcohol in him the man would've just left. It's best to let Wesker take his time to figure out if he wants to talk or not.
Thankfully(?) he does. Unfortunately, it's not something Jaeger's prepared for.]
Oh. I see. That's... certainly something, isn't it? What happened?
He was at least fifty years older and forty pounds lighter than I was. Very...frail, very fragile. He was in a wheelchair, he had some sort of scalp vein set attached to his head. He was likely going to die very soon; I've no idea who he was.
[He couldn't have fought back, which is what's weirding him out.]
We spoke briefly; he said something about it being ironic that he was about to die, and I don't understand why but that...upset me, and I killed him.
The most that came before it was him speaking to me, as I told you, and then I killed him. I was holding him up and against me when he died, and after I was finished with him I let his body drop to the floor.
That was-
[He cuts off abruptly at that; he's quiet for a moment again.]
I said something to him, as he died.
He had been talking to me about how he had wanted to become God. That was what upset me - and as I killed him, I told him that any right he may have had to become God was now mine.
[For what it's worth, his tone implies that he is fully aware that that is nowhere near a normal thing to say to someone, much less while you're killing them.]
Murdering someone, declaring myself God, I don't know why I would have - ...Do you at least see what I mean when I say it doesn't strike me as anything I would do normally, all of that is insane.
Of course it's insane. And of course I can't see you doing anything like that normally! You don't strike me as the sort who would want to be God, anyway.
It certainly doesn't sound like it could have been you.
[But what if... Well, it's better not to say anything about it.]
Well, if I had known the conversation was going to be this deep, I would have broken out something stronger! And here I thought you were coming off a bad breakup or something!

A "memory"? That's what everyone else is calling them, at least.
no subject
[That's...sudden, and vehement, and completely devoid of any explanation whatsoever.]
no subject
That bad, huh?
no subject
[He's fairly aware that Jaeger isn't going to let it go; that doesn't mean he has to be at all cooperative.]
no subject
[It's light-hearted, but he's still studying Wesker carefully.]
no subject
It didn't even feel like me in the first place - or at the very least, not something I would normally do under any sane circumstances.
[It isn't quiet or withdrawn, but it is rather bitter-sounding.]
I didn't understand the reason behind anything that was happening, it was very brief.
no subject
...Will you tell me what it was you saw?

[He doesn't finish that thought right away, though he isn't still; he's just...playing with the liquid inside the glass a bit, swirling it idly while he considers, and once in a while he shakes his head as though he's debating with himself.
It takes him a while.]
...I murdered someone.

He absolutely doesn't have enough alcohol for this, let him refill his glass.]
Goodness, that sounds dreadful. I can see why you're so opposed to the idea that these are memories.
[Why would that anger Wesker and cause him to kill an old man? Who knows. Wesker doesn't seem like the sort to murder an old man in cold blood.]
Was there anything else about it or was that it? Just... killing someone.
[Because goddamn is that a terrible memory to regain.]

[This is so far above his pay grade, oh my god.]

[He just wants to do his highly unethical experiments in peace.]
This is why I have no interest in considering them memories. I don't care what everyone else chooses to believe, that wasn't me in any way.

...My current relationship is fine, thank you.

Wait, you're actually dating someone? Well come on, out with it! Who on earth is putting up with you?
[THIS IS WAY BETTER THAN TALKING ABOUT MURDER]

She's an interesting woman.

Elda of all people... How do you two stand each other?

We're not terribly compatible and we both know it. It's more for convenience's sake than anything.
no subject
[But if it's just for convenience then it's totally fine!!]
