If our goals align I have no doubts that I can work with him. He may be a bit less open to the idea, but I'm sure he'll do it for the greater good or something silly like that.

No, not really. He's one of those people who acts like a normal person, but then he turns around and tries to save everyone by killing people who are causing problems that can't easily be solved.
